Position Overview

The RN II is responsible for delivering direct nursing care to patients and their families, adhering to established protocols, policies, and practices.

Work Schedule : 32 Hours, Full-Time

Shift Timing : Evening - 3 PM to 11 PM

Work Location : M3 - Main Campus

Position Details

Essential Qualifications:
1. Valid RN License in Massachusetts.
2. 12 months to less than 3 years of nursing experience.
3. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
4. Department-specific certifications may be required based on the type of patient care provided.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Key Responsibilities: The following duties are intended to outline the general nature of the role and are not exhaustive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

  • Engages in and stays informed about performance improvement initiatives.

  • Carefully assesses and incorporates evidence-based practices and research into clinical care.

  • Performs and accurately documents clinical assessments.

  • Creates, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans for patients.

  • Utilizes professional nursing judgment to tailor care plans based on patient assessments.

  • Manages patient assignments by delegating tasks effectively according to patient needs and team members' skills.

  • Designs a thorough educational plan for patients and families, using appropriate resources and documenting in line with departmental standards.

  • Respects patient and family rights by supporting informed decisions and advanced directives.

  • Continuously assesses and updates care plans based on changes in patient health status.

  • Creates a comprehensive discharge plan, utilizing relevant resources and referrals, including community services.

  • Assists in the onboarding and development of new staff members, facilitating their integration into the unit.

  • Mentors department staff to promote their professional growth through precepting.

  • Engages in professional development by identifying educational needs and pursuing relevant training.

  • Participates in departmental committees as required.
