What You'll Do
- Perform structural engineering tasks, calculations, and analyses using both hand methods and software tools
- Develop drawings, reports, and specifications for a variety of projects
- Coordinate structural design activities with other disciplines
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior staff
- Support proposal development and assist with estimating structural design efforts
- Review submittals, respond to construction inquiries, and conduct field visits to active project sites
- 10+ years of progressive structural design experience with steel and concrete systems
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering (Structural focus) or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia or ability to obtain reciprocity within 3 months
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience using structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System , RISA , or RAM Concept
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. and obtain a security clearance
- Experience with federal or industrial projects
- Master's degree in Structural or Architectural Engineering
- Familiarity with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project delivery
- Experience with blast-resistant design
