Job Type: Direct Hire 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
Pay Range: $40,000–$50,000 DOE + Commission, full field-sales package (car allowance, laptop, phone, fuel card, expenses). OTE $100,000+.

Job Summary

The Parts & Services Representative supports customer equipment needs by developing relationships, identifying service and repair opportunities, and promoting parts, maintenance, and rental solutions. This role is field-focused and combines outside sales, customer service, equipment support, and business development. The representative visits customer facilities, assesses equipment conditions, prepares estimates, coordinates repairs, and ensures a positive customer experience from initial contact through completion.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys being in the field, developing new business, and helping customers solve equipment problems. Someone organized, proactive, and comfortable discussing equipment needs. Experience with forklifts, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, automotive, hydraulics, or mechanical systems is highly beneficial, but strong outside sales experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication and field visits
• Serve as the primary contact for parts, service, repairs, and maintenance needs
• Visit customer facilities to understand equipment usage and service requirements
• Provide responsive communication and practical equipment solutions
• Follow up consistently throughout the service and repair process

Outside Sales & Business Development

• Prospect, cold call, network, and develop new business
• Identify businesses with forklifts or industrial equipment and introduce service capabilities
• Grow existing accounts by identifying additional parts, service, repair, rental, and maintenance opportunities
• Maintain a strong pipeline and consistent sales activity
• Follow up on quotes, proposals, and open opportunities

Equipment Service & Repair Sales

• Identify equipment problems through discussions, site visits, and basic visual assessment
• Partner with technicians to determine repair requirements
• Present repair recommendations and estimates to customers
• Obtain approvals and coordinate work with the service department
• Educate customers on preventative maintenance and timely repairs

Parts Sales & Support

• Identify required replacement parts and components
• Coordinate with the parts department on availability, pricing, and delivery
• Prepare and present parts quotations
• Identify additional parts sales opportunities
• Follow up on parts requests and provide timely updates

Service Coordination

• Coordinate with technicians, parts personnel, and internal departments
• Monitor repair status and communicate progress or delays
• Assist with scheduling service calls and equipment needs
• Ensure customer concerns are accurately communicated

Estimates, Quotes & Documentation

• Prepare accurate quotes for parts, repairs, and maintenance
• Explain pricing and repair recommendations clearly
• Maintain accurate records of interactions, approvals, and opportunities
• Utilize CRM/ERP systems to manage account information

Rental & Additional Equipment Solutions

• Identify rental opportunities during downtime or repairs
• Recommend rental solutions to maintain customer productivity
• Identify opportunities for equipment replacement or additional equipment
• Cross-sell parts, service, repairs, maintenance, and rentals

Customer Retention & Account Growth

• Maintain regular contact after completed repairs
• Develop long-term relationships that encourage repeat business
• Review service history to identify future opportunities
• Re-engage inactive customers

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance
• Attend customer meetings, site visits, and trade events
• Stay current on company equipment, parts, and service offerings
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 1–3+ years of experience in outside sales, account management, customer service, or equipment-related roles preferred
• Experience with parts, service, repairs, rentals, or maintenance solutions highly preferred
• Experience with forklifts, material handling, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, automotive, hydraulics, or mechanical systems is a strong plus
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
• Excellent communication, follow-up, and organization
• Comfortable making sales calls and visiting customer facilities
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to explain technical information clearly
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-first mindset
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously
