About the Role: The Mechanic II plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This position involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and executing complex repairs with precision and efficiency. The Mechanic II will collaborate closely with other team members to troubleshoot problems and implement effective solutions that minimize downtime. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to uphold the reliability of all serviced equipment. Ultimately, the Mechanic II contributes to the smooth operation of the organization by ensuring all machinery and vehicles are in excellent working condition. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a formal mechanic training program or equivalent work experience. At least 2 years of experience in vehicle or equipment maintenance and repair. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and mechanical repair equipment. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications: Certification from a recognized automotive or mechanical trade organization (e.g., ASE certification). Experience working with heavy-duty vehicles or specialized machinery. Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems and software. Strong understanding of safety protocols and environmental regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Responsibilities: Perform detailed inspections and diagnostics on vehicles and mechanical equipment to identify issues. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations. Repair or replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed. Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems and develop repair strategies. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during repair and maintenance activities. Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs efficiently and effectively. Skills: The required skills enable the Mechanic II to accurately diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs that restore equipment functionality. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment is essential for efficient troubleshooting and maintenance. Preferred skills, such as certification and experience with computerized systems, enhance the ability to handle complex repairs and adapt to evolving technologies.
