TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Chandler, Arizona, 85224!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience required License: Active nursing license required for submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required Must-Have: Experience with C-sections and computer charting, preferably in Cerner Description: Travelers are required to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance. A minimum score of 80% is necessary to pass. Failure to pass will result in a Do Not Use status for 6 months. Travelers will undergo a simulation lab assessment on orientation day. Study guides will be provided. Unit has 18 LDRP beds, 14 OB triage beds, and 8 antepartum beds. Average deliveries are 8-10 per day. Unit conducts 322-344 deliveries per month, totaling 3863 yearly. There are 2 equipped OR suites for C-sections. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, and NRP. Nurse to patient ratios mostly align with established guidelines. Antepartum ratios can reach 4:1 and C-sections are staffed at a 1:1 ratio. Electronic documentation system utilized is Cerner. Fetal monitoring system in use is Fetal Link. Charge nurses are present, totaling 13. Nurse aides are not available on the unit. Weekend shift requirement includes 4 shifts per schedule. Call or standby shifts are voluntary. Holiday coverage is preferred. Scrub color designated is blue. No ventilators on the unit. OB Clientist is present onsite 24/7. IV Team and respiratory therapy are available as needed. Pharmacy services are operational 24/7. Shifts run from 1900 to 0700 hours. Floating to maternal/ postpartum units may occur as needed. Confident functioning in circulating and recovery roles for C-sections is mandatory. Patients are transferred post-delivery to postpartum care. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during the assignment. Charting system utilized is Cerner. Titration of drips, including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate, is required as per protocol. Common diagnoses pertain to laboring or preterm pregnant patients. The unit serves level II gestations of 28 weeks and greater and functions as a Level 1 trauma center.
