Laboratory Intern

Position Overview CytoHub Inc. is a San Diego-based biotech startup focusing on cardiovascular innovation through its mini‑heart platform and AI/ML tools. This on‑site Laboratory Intern role at JLABS involves characterizing our proprietary mini‑heart platform with video and still imaging, contributing to the culture, differentiation, and analysis of iPSC‑derived cardiac organoids, and developing scalable in‑silico analytical workflows. Key Responsibilities Assist in iPSC culture and mini‑heart differentiation and characterization. Provide laboratory assistance to ensure smooth operation of the biology laboratory. Capture and analyze video and still images of mini‑hearts using light microscopy. Design and develop a scalable in‑silico data analysis workflow for high‑throughput analysis. Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to develop software tools for process development and mini‑heart analytical characterization. Qualifications / Experience Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field. Laboratory experience in biology, with ability to support lab operations. Experience with image analysis, microscopy, and high‑throughput imaging is desirable. Familiarity with data analysis and AI/ML software development is a plus. Ability to excel in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities. Salary and Benefits Part‑time position ($20/h) based in our facility in JLABS at San Diego, offering contemporary facilities and discounted cafeteria. Internship initially for 8 weeks commencing in July 2026, with possibility of extension thereafter.
