Shipping Supervisor

MAIN FUNCTION The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Shipping Superintendent in the coordination and direction of daily activities in the shipping department. Duties And Responsibilities Supervise, train, and develop shipping department personnel to provide quality workmanship, knowledge of the plant quality system, and a strong safety program Provide safety training to all shipping employees; actively enforce all plant safety programs and policies Monitor the quality system ensuring that all loading procedures are current, up to date and are being followed by the employees Schedule of daily loading activities using all resources available Direct packaging, identification, and shipping of product to ensure the material is received in good condition Develop ongoing relationships with customer service and suppliers Arranges the day-to-day record keeping and administrative functions relating to the shipping employees, absenteeism, vacation schedules, work schedules, overtime records and accident reports. Including reviewing punches in the Kronos system Arranges the shipping department day-to-day record keeping relating to equipment calibrations, equipment, work orders and equipment maintenance and repair Assist in material management and inventory Assure continued compliance and development of ISO 9001:2000 registration Assist in assurance of compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies Improve people performance through coaching, education and training to ensure long-term dependability and increase productivity Provide leadership for continued improvement in efficiencies and quality CHARACTERISTICS High energy level, team player, excellent work ethic, with strong management skills Able to develop and enhance relationships with peers, customers, suppliers and auditors Education And Experience College degree preferred. Two to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or AS400 database programs One to two years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Effective communicator, both oral and written #J-18808-Ljbffr
