Technology SpecialistConfigures and maintains end-user computing devices and classroom audio/visual equipment, and provides end-user technical support. The specialist's responsibilities may extend to include assisting with the installation and maintenance of servers, applications or networking equipment.Essential Duties And Responsibilities:Install and maintain computing devices and related peripheralsInstall and maintain classroom audio/visual equipment and related peripheralsPerform basic network troubleshootingPerform proper record keepingAssist with installation and maintenance of network equipmentAssist with maintenance of equipment inventoriesParticipate in professional development to maintain and enhance technical proficiencyDemonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned dutiesPerform other duties as assignedEssential Attributes:Successful job-related experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting personal computers and related peripheralsWorking knowledge of computer networking conceptsExcellent technical, problem solving, analytical and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervisionAbility to carry out job responsibilities and handle sensitive information in a confidential mannerExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequentlyValid Mississippi driver's licenseSatisfactory criminal background checkMinimum Qualifications & Education Requirements:High School diploma, or equivalent1 year of experience in end-user technical supportPreferred Skills:Associate Degree, in related technical field5 years of experience in end-user technical support
