Buyer / Planner (Supply Chain & Order Management) We're looking for a Buyer / Planner who thrives on organization, precision, and collaboration. In this role, you'll play a critical part in keeping production and customer deliveries on track by managing procurement, forecasting material needs, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and efficiently from start to finish. This position combines purchasing, planning, and order management, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams. You'll work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials and customer orders flow smoothly through the business. What You'll Do Purchasing & Supplier Management Create and manage purchase orders based on internal requisitions and demand signals Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, quality, and delivery terms Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and responsiveness Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to delivery, quality, or cost Resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with vendors and Finance Maintain accurate supplier records, pricing data, and purchasing documentation Partner with engineering and production teams to clarify specifications and requirements Planning & Inventory Control Monitor inventory levels to ensure availability while minimizing excess and obsolescence Analyze demand forecasts and align procurement with production schedules Maintain planning parameters including safety stock, lead times, and order quantities Update ERP/MRP systems and tracking tools to reflect real-time inventory status Develop inventory strategies aligned with service levels and cost targets Collaborate with Operations and Finance on forecasting, planning, and cash flow alignment Ensure high levels of data accuracy across all planning systems Order Management & Fulfillment Coordination Manage customer orders from entry through fulfillment, ensuring accuracy and timely processing Review orders for completeness, pricing accuracy, and alignment with customer requirements Coordinate order flow between Sales, Production, and Logistics teams Track order status and proactively communicate updates, delays, or changes to stakeholders Ensure alignment between order commitments, material availability, and production timelines Resolve order-related issues, including shortages, backorders, and delivery discrepancies Maintain accurate order data within ERP systems to support reporting and fulfillment accuracy Process Improvement & Reporting Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies across purchasing, planning, and order flow Support development and tracking of KPIs such as inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and on-time delivery Recommend reporting enhancements and tools to improve visibility and decision-making Support ERP and supply chain system optimization initiatives Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Production to ensure materials and orders align with build schedules Communicate ETAs, shipment updates, and inventory levels across teams Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Logistics to ensure customer delivery expectations are met Act as a central point of coordination between supply chain and customer-facing teams What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (preferred) 3+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, inventory management, or order management Strong understanding of procurement, demand planning, and order fulfillment processes Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (implementation experience a plus) Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy Comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven environment Why You'll Love This Role High-impact role supporting both production operations and customer delivery Broad exposure across purchasing, planning, and order management functions Opportunity to grow within supply chain and operations leadership Collaborative environment focused on accountability and continuous improvement Strong benefits package, generous PTO, and a culture that supports work-life balance The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
