Intelligence Specialist (Operations)

Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the INSCOM, 780th Military Intelligence Brigade, 782d Military Intelligence Battalion, located at Fort Gordon, GA. Responsibilities Perform initial and advanced analysis to establish and target identification and operational patterns. Assist with integrating Cyberspace Operations capabilities into operations and integrating Cyber-related effects. Facilitate timely and accurate information of staff responsibilities in connection with the execution of Cyberspace Operations support actions. Leverage information derived from a variety of computer network defense resources and SIGINT resources to identify events that occur or may occur on computer networks. Executes SIGINT and/or computer network operations (CNO) tactics, techniques, and procedures to assess computer network defense information and multi-disciplined intelligence to identify technical system vulnerabilities. Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative relationships with a wide range of Service and Joint military personnel as well as elements of the Intelligence Community. Identifies intelligence gaps and develop detailed information needs, collection requirements, and access strategies to support ongoing operations, targeting processes, and/or future operations planning. Uses Intelligence Community (IC) Analytic Standards and tradecraft in the research, preparation, and production of intelligence reports on highly-complex and/or technically challenging problem sets. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one (1) year of experience equivalent to at least the GG/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Conducting the analysis and collection operations of digital networks in support of the planning of Cyber Warfare activities; exploiting captured media to investigate computer security incidents to mitigate network vulnerabilities; and assisting with the integration of Cyberspace Operations capabilities into operations/exercise design. Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
