Nurse

The Nurse is an onsite medical practitioner for the programs at MCHS Family of Services. Providing preventive medical and health services; develops, coordinates, and implements medical care plans; identifies problems and provides care or referrals; coordinates the implementation and administration of medical services.

Responsibilities include:

• Ensuring proper care and medical treatment of all clients in the agency's care.
• Ensuring proper administration of youth resident medications, immunizations, and MCIR compliance.
• Maintaining accurate, detailed medical reports and records for all children in agency care, both residential and community programs.
• Working as a medical liaison with community agencies to ensure that medical needs are met for all youth in MCHS community programs.
• Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests and lab work for medication assessments and physicals and coordinating and overseeing all prescription medication for youth in agency care.
• Training agency staff on medical policies and procedures, CPR, First Aid, and medication.

Education and experience:

• B.S.N. (Bachelors of Science in Nursing) or Registered Nurse with a minimum of five (5) years' experience working with children and adolescents.
• Qualified to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan and hold an unrestricted license.
• National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) passed.
• Certified in AED/CPR and First Aid.
