UVA Primary Care Culpeper is seeking a primary care physician for their practice in Culpeper, VA. This BE/BC provider may be specialized in family medicine or internal medicine. Position highlights include practice hours from Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm, a 4 day work week with flexible scheduling, rotating call among all providers, an on-site lab, and availability of telemedicine visits.

Job description includes providing physician services, managing patients in the clinic and other locations, working in conjunction with the medical director and staff to facilitate patient management, exercising independent judgment in assessment, diagnosing, and initiation of medical processes, performing comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, formulating diagnoses and identifying health risk profiles, performing and interpreting diagnostic studies, performing procedures and surgeries, ordering medications and treatments, requesting consultations and initiating referrals, evaluating patient responses to interventions, providing information and support to patients and families, participating in on-call responsibilities, educating patients and families regarding procedures and treatments, managing patients in accordance with established policies, participating in institutional care settings if appropriate, examining systems and processes in populations and recommending strategies for improvement, promoting communication between families and health care team, reporting births, deaths, outbreaks of contagious diseases, meeting quality standards, serving on selected committees, participating in clinical experiences, engaging in peer and review activities, preparing and attending to reports, claims, and correspondence, promoting the professional practice of the group, performing other duties as assigned, following policies and procedures, accurately assigning CPT and ICD codes, working with administrative management on payor requirements, participating in education of other health care professionals, developing and presenting educational programs, updating practice through continuing education, serving as a clinical resource, seeking professional growth opportunities, and performing other tasks as assigned.

Compensation includes a guaranteed annual compensation of $250,000 for years 1-2, structured according to specialty: Internal Medicine: $228,620 base salary + $21,380 guaranteed incentive; Family Medicine: $222,500 base salary + $27,500 guaranteed incentive. Providers may earn additional compensation through the wRVU productivity model if production exceeds the guaranteed threshold. Sign-on bonus offered. After year 2, compensation transitions to the applicable base salary plus a wRVU-based productivity incentive model.

Minimum requirements include a graduate of an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), completion of an accredited residency in chosen specialty, board certification in specialty, unrestricted license to practice within the Commonwealth of Virginia, current DEA certificate without restriction, experience utilizing a personal computer and computerized scheduling.

Physical demands include standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive), repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.
