You will develop problems involving boundary-condition selection, mesh quality assessment, flow-regime identification, and simulation setup, then support each task with deterministic evaluation and a verified solution. This is a remote, part-time freelance contractor position for candidates in the United States. The role requires 20 or more hours per week, offers flexible scheduling, and pays $80 to $110 per hour. Job type: Part-time contractor Location: Remote, United States Language: English Time requirement: 20+ hours per week Pay: $80 to $110 per hour What You'll Do You will turn practical CFD knowledge into precise, verifiable tasks that reveal how well an AI model understands engineering concepts. Each challenge should be clear, physically accurate, appropriately difficult, and grounded in real OpenFOAM practice. Design CFD and aerodynamics tasks that test AI engineering reasoning Write clear, unambiguous problem statements across a range of topics Develop deterministic scoring checkers that automatically evaluate final answers Provide trusted reference solutions confirming that each task is solvable Review and iterate on tasks for physical accuracy, clarity, and difficulty Ground task design in real-world OpenFOAM practice Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule Required Qualifications This role is intended for someone with hands-on CFD experience and the ability to explain complex physics precisely in writing. A background in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred at the bachelor's level or higher. Hands-on experience with OpenFOAM A solid foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer Comfort with mesh generation, turbulence modeling, boundary-condition specification, and post-processing Ability to formulate precise, self-contained, and verifiable engineering problems Strong written communication skills for explaining complex physics clearly Background in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline Bachelor's degree or higher preferred Additional Experience That Helps The following experience is not required, but it can strengthen your ability to design varied and technically rigorous AI-training tasks.
