Customer Service Specialist

We're looking for a Billing Specialist to join a well-established, nonprofit healthcare organization that serves over a million members across Utah and the Mountain West. What You'll Do

• Provide top-notch customer service while helping members with premium billing questions - from routine account inquiries to payment processing.
• Handle a mix of inbound and outbound calls, including helping members understand their bills, take payments, and enroll in online billing/payment tools.
• Notify members of delinquent accounts and guide them through reinstatement requirements when needed.
• Research and resolve issues on the spot whenever possible, following up promptly when more digging is required.
• Keep member information secure and confidential at all times.
• Partner with other departments to get member accounts corrected quickly.
• Learn the ins and outs of billing policies so you can give accurate, confident answers every time.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A friendly phone voice and strong communication skills - no healthcare experience required!
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• A "growth mindset" - someone excited to eventually take on more responsibility, including escalated calls, rather than just doing the minimum.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
