This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.The Mission Planning Subsystems (MPS) element addresses the system support requirements for pre-mission planning and post-mission data analysis and reports. It consists of mission-specific hardware and software external to the aircraft necessary to plan missions, configure the aircraft, and classify/declassify removable media or hardware. The MPS provides connectivity and access to reference and operational data sources that support the operation of the mission system. The MPS Engineer will be responsible for one or more of the following:Requirements analysis and development tasks include supplier statements of work, requirements analysis, and development to generate subsystem technical requirements documentation, trade studies, modeling, and performance analysisArchitecture development and subsystem design tasks include generation of the technical requirements documentation baseline, functional and physical architecture definition and control, functional and physical interface definition and control, and design drawing creation supportAcquisition and supplier management tasks include support to Global Supply Chain for RFPs and supplier/PO status, supplier meetings and reviews, witness of supplier testing and verification activities, and SDRL review and acceptanceTest and verification tasks (including qualification testing) include managing compliance to the verification cross reference matrix for hardware, software and subsystem level test, oversight of supplier manufacturing and test process, and documentation related to product test, managing supplier manufacturing and testing issues as they arise, and facilitating resolution and review of supplier test and verification reportsA successful MPS Engineer has good leadership skills and understands the scope of the work and the impact of the work on other teams, consistently brings up concerns, issues and risks to program and technical leadership and holds the team to a high level of technical rigor.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:At a Principal Level: Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 5 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 3 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 0 years of relevant military / professional experienceMust have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years AND the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.Experience performing requirements analysis and developing technical requirement documentation for hardware/software subsystems.Practical knowledge of functional and physical architecture definition, interface control, and creation of design drawings.Experience supporting acquisition activities such as RFP development, supplier coordination, and reviewing supplier deliverables.Hands-on involvement in test and verification processes, including creating verification matrices, overseeing hardware/software test, and managing test documentation.Proficiency with modeling, trade-study, and performance-analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SysML, CAD).Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier interaction.At a Senior Principal Level:Must have a Bachelors degree in a STEM field and at least 8 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a Master's Degree in a STEM field and at least 6 years of relevant military / professional experience, OR a PhD and at least 4 years of relevant military / professional experienceMust have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years AND the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance.Experience performing requirements analysis and developing technical requirement documentation for hardware/software subsystems.Practical knowledge of functional and physical architecture definition, interface control, and creation of design drawings.Experience supporting acquisition activities such as RFP development, supplier coordination, and reviewing supplier deliverables.Hands-on involvement in test and verification processes, including creating verification matrices, overseeing hardware/software test, and managing test documentation.Proficiency with modeling, trade-study, and performance-analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, SysML, CAD).Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and supplier interaction.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Prior experience with mission-critical or aerospace Mission Planning Subsystems (MPS).Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.Familiarity with military/industry standards such as MIL-STD-882 (System Safety), MIL-STD-8570 (Software Development), and ITAR/EAR compliance.Demonstrated success managing global supply-chain activities, including supplier testing witness, SDRL reviews, and issue resolution.Certifications such as PMP, CSM, or Systems Engineering Professional (SEP).Control Account Management (CAM) certification or Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., DOORS, Cameo, Rational) and automated testing frameworks.Knowledge of data-classification/declassification processes for removable media and hardware.Primary Level Salary Range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
