Application Systems Analyst IIIOHIOIT partners with colleges and units to deliver reliable, secure, and user-centered technology that supports teaching, learning, research, and operations. We work in a product-oriented model, aligning roadmaps and services to university priorities, improving experience, building trust, and increasing efficiency. Team members collaborate across IT, academic and administrative units, and vendors to solve problems, reduce risk, and deliver measurable outcomes for the University. The Application Systems Analyst III specializes in designing and maintaining solutions using Microsoft 365 platforms, including Power Apps and Power Automate, to support operational processes across the university. Serves as a departmental resource for platform capability and solution design and takes a lead role in projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Administers and manages non-enterprise applications, both cloud and on-premise, including technical testing, troubleshooting, analysis, installation, configuration and maintenance. Manages vendor relationships. Provides technical guidance pertaining to the capabilities, limitations and requirements of applications. Designs IT solutions using existing tools and technologies. Assesses compatibility and integration of products and services proposed as standards, in order to ensure integration across interdependent technologies.Manages and resolves complex and ambiguous issues. Works on both strategic and operational challenges, addressing problems that require advanced knowledge and experience. Often takes on leadership roles in projects or initiatives.Provides mentorship and guidance to team. Infrequently has a limited number of direct reports.May have budgetary responsibility for small-scale projects or initiatives.Solves complex problems, often with limited guidance.Works independently; seeks guidance for unusual situations.Collaborates with team members and external departments. May represent the team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.This role is primarily desk-based and involves extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally, the job may require travel to attend meetings and programs.Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 or more years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.Experience delivering results in a large or federated environment (higher ed, public sector). Demonstrated impact on satisfaction, reliability, adoption, or other metrics. Ability to work and collaborate effectively with partners, customers, and stakeholders with diverse perspectives and needs. Strong skills in written and verbal communication, especially stakeholder communication and collaboration. Familiarity with IT risk, accessibility, and security practices. Comfort with IT methodologies and practices (agile, service management, etc.). Experience designing and implementing workflow automation using the Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Microsoft Power Automate. Experience developing or administering solutions built on Microsoft SharePoint. Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and governance considerations. Experience translating business requirements into scalable low-code automation solutions. Familiarity with governance practices for the Microsoft Power Platform, including environment and data policies. Ability to analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation.Information and Technology OfficeThe salary negotiated at the time of offer will be commensurate with education and experience.
