Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in a mixed ICU setting with a focus on cardiac care. The nurse will manage cardiac patients, monitor vital signs, and provide necessary interventions. The role includes admitting patients straight from the Operating Room (OR) and engaging with overflow patients when required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the CVICU setting.
• Monitor and manage patients before and after cardiac surgery.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as prescribed.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in CVICU.
• Cardiac trained RN with ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and CALS certifications required.
• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• Experience with Cerner charting system preferred.
