Distribution Trainee

Program Overview Core & Main invites recent college graduates to join a 2‑year rotational trainee program focused on water, wastewater, storm drainage, and fire protection product distribution. The program develops future managers, sales professionals, and operations personnel. Year 1: $24/hr plus $5,000 sign‑on bonus and $5,000 year‑1 bonus. Year 2: $25/hr plus $5,000 graduation bonus. Relocation required for the second year. Key Responsibilities & Rotations Participants will rotate through multiple department roles and attend classroom seminars to match each individual’s interests, skills, and abilities. Warehouse operations – lifting, loading trucks, and inventory management. Purchasing – Buyer responsibilities and vendor communication. Estimator – Reviewing project data to calculate costs. Inside sales – Conducting telephone and e‑mail outreach to customers. Outside sales – Visiting customers in the field and building relationships. Operations management – Assisting in the oversight of branch operations. Cross‑functional assignments – Learning inter‑departmental interfaces. Each rotation is complemented by classroom seminars and a culminating project presented to senior leadership. Qualifications No more than two years of professional experience (internships and pre‑graduation roles are excluded). Preferred experience in leadership positions such as college clubs, student organizations, or volunteer groups. Compensation & Benefits Hourly wages and annual bonuses as described above.
