Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/CNS) - Electrophysiology I (West Region: Avon- REJ/Fairview)

Cleveland Clinic, Heart Vascular & Thoracic Institute is currently seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA/CNS) for a position in Electrophysiology. Cardiology and/or electrophysiology experience preferred. In this position, the provider will care for patients in the outpatient department only.

Schedule: Days, with the option of 5-8-hour shifts or 4-10-hour shifts (7a-5p). No weekends or holidays are currently expected in this role! Please note: Schedule/hours can change based on organizational needs. New graduates are not being considered for this role at this time.

Responsibilities include conducting thorough medical histories, performing complete physical examinations, initiating appropriate lab, radiology tests, and interpreting common laboratory, radiologic, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures. The provider will also perform routine and specialized procedures, prescribe and monitor medications, educate patients, participate in medical team rounds, refer patients to specialists, ensure continuity of care, participate in quality monitoring, facilitate appropriate length of stay, discharge planning, and support professional development of the health care team.

Education requirements include a Master's Degree in Nursing, graduate of an accredited APRN program, and national certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Certifications required include currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s), licensed as an RN in applicable state(s), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Complexity of work requires excellent analytical and decision-making skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, demonstrated competency and the ability to perform advanced assessment and diagnosis, ability to utilize the electronic medical record, high standard of moral and ethical behavior, critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, ability to work independently, and ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Physical requirements include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, manual and finger dexterity, eye/hand coordination, corrected vision and hearing to a normal range, occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds, and exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
