Position Type: Student Support Services/ School Nurse Date Posted: 8/13/2026 Location: Districtwide Date Available: 08/27/2026 Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Reports To: Director of Pupil Services Level: Districtwide Hourly Rate: $37.00 10 Month position up to 35 hours per week Position Purpose: Licensed Practical Nurses utilize medical and clinical training to care for students. Qualifications/Credentials: Current CT LPN license; Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certified; Pediatric experience in feeding tubes and trach care; Current State of Connecticut driver's license required. Duties/Responsibilities: Implement containment strategies with symptomatic students in Isolation areas Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse follow and maintain school nursing policies and procedures Provide direct support to students with medical needs Team with School Registered Nurse to provide consultation and support for students and staff on healthy practice in an educational setting Assist with medical documentation and administers medications within the scope of District policy and state and federal laws Assist the School RN in various health services as required by state law i.e. vision, hearing, scoliosis screenings, immunizations, and health assessments Exercise professionalism and confidentiality when providing information to the students, parents, and staff Provide consultation in effective use of PPE, social distancing, and illness mitigation Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with CDC, State and local guidance regarding the use of personal protective equipment, hygiene and social distancing Other nursing duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services and/or the Superintendent Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
