From planning and managing diverse survey types, such as boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and drone mapping, to mentoring junior staff and ensuring regulatory compliance, you will bring technical expertise and strategic oversight to every phase of a project. In the field, you will ensure data accuracy through hands-on use of advanced instruments and resolve challenges swiftly to keep progress on track. Your work not only supports precise data collection but also fosters collaboration, safety, and innovation across teams and client engagements.To thrive in this role, you will have a strong knowledge of diverse surveying methods and value tech-forward thinking. Named the #1 firm to work for in 2025 by Zweig Group , you’ll be part of a team that values your impact, supports your growth, and celebrates your success every step of the way.What You'll Do:Office Work:Conduct and oversee diverse types of Surveys, including Boundary, Topography, ALTA/NSPS, Construction Staking, Bathymetric, Drone, 3D Scanning, etc.Plan, coordinate, and manage survey projects to completion, ensuring timelines and budgetsCommunicate with coworkers and clients to understand their overall needs, provide updates, and deliver high-quality serviceComplete the Health and Safety Plan (HASP) prior to the field crew performing site workPrepare, review, and interpret legal documents, including deeds, plats, and easementsEnsure all survey activities comply with state and local regulations and standards. Uphold ethical and professional standardsUtilize advanced surveying equipment and software to collect and analyze data, ensuring precision and accuracy. Keep up on the latest technology advancements, regulations, and emerging technologies in land surveyingMentor and train junior surveyors and technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environmentField Work:Conduct on-site surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying instrumentsCollect accurate field data and ensure proper documentationMaintain and calibrate survey equipment to ensure optimal performanceAddress and resolve any issues encountered in the fieldWhat you bring:HS Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's degree in a Surveying program preferredMust be eligible to obtain a PLS license within 6 months of hire; PLS license already obtained preferredMinimum of 6 years' experience in professional surveyingProficient in survey-related equipment, including but not limited to GPS, Robotic Total Stations, 3D Scanners, Drones, etc.Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, and other survey-related softwareCurrent FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot’s License preferredAbility to work effectively in a team environment and lead by exampleCapable of managing multiple projects simultaneouslyWillingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrainsMust have a valid driver's licenseSalary Range:The starting salary for this position is $80,000, with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status.Benefits:Flexible Work EnvironmentPaid Parental LeaveMedicalDentalVisionLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability401(k) with Company MatchPaid Time Off + HolidaysVerdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
