Food Process Engineer II (Technical Services Manager) Glanbia Join this dynamic team focused on delivering better nutrition for every step of life’s journey The Opportunity Lead technical innovation and process optimization for a large-scale dairy/nutrition manufacturing operation. This role owns the commercialization of new products, drives plant performance improvements, and serves as a key technical leader across Operations, Engineering, Quality, and R&D.   Essential FunctionsLead Plant Performance & Process OptimizationDrive initiatives to improve yield, efficiency, cost, and waste reductionIdentify and solve complex process, quality, and production challengesLead root cause analysis and implement sustainable process improvementsPartner with plant leadership to prioritize high-impact technical projectsProduct Commercialization & Scale-UpLead scale-up and commercialization of new products from R&D into full productionExecute plant trials, validation, and startup activitiesEnsure successful transfer of new products, processes, and equipment into operationsSupport co-manufacturing partners with technical expertiseTechnical InnovationEvaluate and implement new ingredients, technologies, and process improvementsLead in-plant research and development efforts to enhance product functionality and qualityDevelop and standardize processes, specifications, and SOPsAct as an internal technical consultant across cross-functional teamsLeadershipLead and develop technical teams and project groupsDrive continuous improvement initiatives and build a culture of accountabilityAdditional FunctionsAttend seminars and shows for vendor meetings and information gathering.Assist with the purchase agreements related to outsourced whey, co-packer, and contracted services.Provide Customers Support as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in food science/technology, chemical engineering, or related field and 10 years practical experience and/or training in relevant industry; or equivalent experienceExperience in food, dairy, ingredients, or CPG manufacturing environmentsRequires up to 30–40% travel to support plant initiatives, product commercialization, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.Proven success in: Process improvement and plant optimizationProduct commercialization and scale-upLeading cross-functional technical projectsStrong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze data and drive decisionsPreferredMaster's DegreeExperience in dairy or whey-based ingredient manufacturingBackground in microbiology, food chemistry, or advanced processingTrack record of influencing plant leadership and driving changeWhere and how you will work The opportunity can be based in Twin Falls, ID; St Johns, MI; or Clovis, NMWhat we would like to offer you!  The opportunity to develop your career on a global stage, continuous learning through an on-demand learning platform, and a competitive compensation package including staff discounts, generous family leave policy, health & dental plan, competitive salary, 401K.
