To learn more, please visit our company website: Position Overview McKinney Specialty Labs, LLC. is looking for a Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for performing tasks required to meet the expectations of our clients, in addition to efficiently and profitably generating defensible data in a timely manner. This position will be in one of the following groups: GC, LC, GCMS, or LCMS, and these tasks will be performed under the direction of the Group Leader. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare samples for analysis Determine the volume of samples Clean laboratory glassware Prepare reagents for lab use and/or shipment Perform sample extractions Maintain clean laboratory areas Maintain organized records of sample preparation and analysis Assist the Group Leaders and Analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation Work comfortably with chemicals, glassware, and tobacco/nicotine products Remain flexible and handle changing priorities Demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a desire to work both as part of a team and independently Comply with McKinney Specialty Labs Quality Assurance Program and other policies Comply with McKinney Specialty Labs Health and Safety Plan Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director Necessary Qualifications To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Qualifications and Education Requirements Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree, or Career Studies Certificate in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred. Preferred Skills Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position Knowledge of analytical methods, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety Ability to work independently and in a team Good organizational skills and strong communication skills The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
