Outside Sales Account Manager

Sell and promote Wurth/MSM (Northern Safety's) catalog products Generate new business while servicing the existing territory base Travel a defined territory within a 2-hour driving radius around St. Louis, Missouri, for face-to-face customer contact Call on existing customers and cold call potential customers Build customer relationships through consultative selling, soliciting orders, phone calls, and virtual meetings Collaborate with customer service and branch locations to develop new business Work with inside sales representatives regarding orders, delivery schedules, and pricing Quote product prices and determine eligibility for volume purchase programs Monitor customer purchases using monthly customer reports Follow up on samples and catalogs issued to prospective or existing customers Work with the Product Trainer to understand product applications and inform customers of developments Meet territory reporting deadlines and conduct competitive reconnaissance Record daily activities and opportunities in the CRM Provide customer feedback and support current sales channels Plan and organize sales strategies Perform other assigned duties Requirements Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college; or equivalent combination of education and experience At least 2–3 years of outside field sales experience, preferably in the MRO, Safety, or Industrial industries One to three years selling experience preferred Valid and clean state driver's license Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to be organized and thorough Ability to work collaboratively with associates and managers Ability to be a self-starter, objective, and assertive Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals Ability to present information and respond to questions from team leaders, managers, associates, and customers Ability to calculate discounts and percentages Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Core Competencies Demonstrates strong outside field sales experience with a focus on consultative selling and customer relationship management.
