Registered Nurse (RN) Behavioral Health Per Diem Nights Location: Clara Maass Medical Center, 1 Clara Maass Drive, Belleville, NJ 07109 Department: Psychiatry Shift: Night; Per Diem Pay Range: $47.62 – $63.73 per hour Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Behavioral Health Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The RN will provide advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions in a state‑of‑the‑art campus. Qualifications ASN or Nursing Diploma; BSN preferred. Active RN License or approved compact license required. BLS from the American Heart Association is required. Strong communication and organizational skills. Minimum of one (1) year of previous psychiatric experience. Scheduling Requirements Per Diem Night Shift. Must be available to work one (1) weekend shift per month. Must be available to work 2 shifts a month Monday–Friday. Must have availability for 1 Summer leave: Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day. Must have availability for 1 Winter leave: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day. Essential Functions Provide nursing care in the healthcare system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assure awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. Assure safety in practice and incorporate principles of evidence‑based practice by maintaining self‑knowledge and advancing knowledge of the patient care team. Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (e.g., damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. Maintain knowledge of the patient population served. Supervise and delegate tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers. Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.
