We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to provide on-site financial leadership for a manufacturing facility in Niagara Falls, New York. This Long-term Contract position will partner closely with plant leadership to strengthen cost visibility, support sound operating decisions, and maintain accurate financial reporting in a hands-on production environment. The role is ideal for a controller who brings strong manufacturing accounting expertise, can work independently, and is comfortable contributing during a busy period that includes budgeting, audit support, and finance system process improvements.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the plant’s monthly accounting close and deliver timely, accurate financial results and reporting packages for management review.
• Evaluate manufacturing costs, prepare recurring product cost analyses, and provide insights that help leadership understand operational and margin performance.
• Partner regularly with site management to review spending against budget, investigate variances, and identify opportunities to improve cost control.
• Manage monthly intercompany account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain reliable financial records.
• Oversee physical inventory activities, update inventory records based on count results, and communicate adjustments and variances to plant and corporate stakeholders.
• Maintain and revise standard costs and inventory valuations as business conditions, annual reviews, or operational changes require.
• Prepare required non-payroll compliance filings, including sales and use tax reporting, information returns, and other applicable regulatory submissions.
• Support financial reporting for government-funded research and development activity associated with the business.
• Assist finance and operations teams with enterprise system implementation efforts, including data setup, validation, and related process support.• At least 5 years of controllership or plant-level finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in cost accounting, manufacturing cost analysis, and month-end general ledger close.
• Demonstrated ability to produce accurate financial reporting and translate plant activity into clear business impact.
• Experience working independently in a hands-on role while partnering effectively with plant and corporate leadership.
• Solid understanding of inventory controls, standard costing, and physical inventory reconciliation processes.
• Self-directed approach with the ability to step into an active operation and contribute quickly with minimal ramp-up time.
• Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors is preferred.
• Prior involvement in an ERP implementation or major finance system rollout is highly desirable.
