Position Summary The Solution Architect – EDI serves as the lead subject matter expert for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and B2B integration within a manufacturing environment utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365 F&O). This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting scalable integration solutions that enable secure and efficient data exchange between the organization and its trading partners. It acts as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams—translating business requirements into effective system solutions that drive operational efficiency and measurable business outcomes. Essential Functions Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for EDI and other B2B integration technologies. Partner cross functionally with stakeholders to: Review and document current state processes Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities Translate requirements into scalable technical solutions Design and validate EDI solutions and offer guidance on best practices, security standards and architectural principles. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, including solution reviews and design oversight. Support the creation and maintenance of process and system documentation to enable effective knowledge transfer, system stability, smooth hyper care, and operational transitions. Mentor, coach and train team members within the EDI and B2B integration domain. Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, protocols, and standards and recommend improvements in services and products. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and integration capabilities. Collaborate across functional areas including Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment of solutions with business. Perform other duties assigned that support the overall success of the team, department, or organization. Regular, predictable, in-person attendance on the business days the Company requires in-person attendance at this facility. For non-required-in-person attendance days, employees are expected to be present, responsive, accessible, and actively engaged in a remote work environment during the designated work hours for this role. Solid understanding of standard business processes across all functional areas in a manufacturing environment including: Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Plan to Production, Pick to Ship, Concept to Market, Post to Close. Excellent communication, negotiation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse cross-functional team members in a matrixed environment. Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage competing priorities. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance the long-term big picture vision and short-term detailed execution. Strong financial acumen, and ability to assess the financial impact of technical solutions. Technical expertise (7+ years of experience in these areas) including: Deep experience with EDI platforms and integration solutions such as Boomi, OpenText, SPS Commerce. Strong understanding of EDI standards, particularly ANSI X12. Experience with EDI communication protocols, including AS2, FTP, SFTP, and VAN. Hands‑on experience with EDI transaction sets such as 850, 855, 856, 810, 940, 943, 944, 945, 947. Proficiency in EDI mapping and business process modeling, interface design (inbound/outbound integrations). Education, Experience, Qualifications, and Certifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Strong experience in CPG or Manufacturing environment. 7+ years of experience with EDI implementation, integration, and maintenance. Experience working with integration development tools for EDI mapping and business process modeling. Experience with EDI configuration, including partner profile setup and business process modeling. Advanced experience in EDI inbound and outbound interface functionality and developing and supporting interfaces for different business processes. Physical Requirements and Work Conditions Ability to remain seated at a workstation for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day). Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment. Ability to view computer screens and read printed materials for prolonged periods. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching within the office environment. Ability to lift and carry office supplies or equipment weighing up to 10–15 lbs. Adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and via phone/video. Salary and Benefits Annual salary for this position ranges from $125,000 - $170,000. Eligible for a Short‑Term Incentive Bonus.
