About the Position This position is located at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for candidates new to Federal service 1‑Year Fellowship in Transfusion Medicine is preferred. Who may apply: US Citizens. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience includes paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer experience, will be credited. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualification is based on education, transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is this document. Basic Requirements for Physician (Pathology) Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada, accredited by recognized bodies. A foreign medical degree must be equivalent to accredited US schools, demonstrated by certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory. Graduate Training: After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting— a one‑year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution. Residency Training Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Pathology) and have at least 4 years of equivalent experience and training.
