Industrial Maintenance Technician – Electrical & Mechanical

Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday; overtime and weekends as needed

About the Position

The Diez Group Kansas City specializes in steel and aluminum coil blanking for the automotive stamping industry. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills to join our team.

This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production and facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, motors, controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics .
• Repair and maintain mechanical components, including bearings, belts, chains, pumps, and drives.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Perform electrical and mechanical inspections and adjustments.
• Maintain facility systems, including electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and other building equipment.
• Complete and document PMs and repairs in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and all company safety procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects.
• Follow ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 procedures and work instructions.
• Identify potential equipment problems and take initiative to correct them before breakdowns occur.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent military training required.
• 2–3 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs and VFDs.
• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
• LOTO experience required.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• HVAC experience is a plus.
• Steel or aluminum manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Ability to obtain certification to operate forklifts, cranes, and manlifts.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Dependable, safety-focused, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position in a heavy-industrial manufacturing environment. PPE is required on the plant floor.

The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs, and frequently lifting or moving items over 50 pounds.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday. Overtime, weekends, and extended hours may be required based on business needs.
