About the Role Otto Aerospace is seeking a dynamic engineer to support the design, development, and integration of Mechanical Systems, including Interior Furnishings & Equipment. You will join a team developing the world’s most efficient aircraft. Otto Aerospace is seeking first principles engineers that balance creativity with experience while working within an effective team atmosphere. What You'll Do Design, develop, and integrate mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, to include the following: o Mechanical Systems Flight Controls (ATA 27) Landing Gear (ATA 32) Ice Protection (ATA 30) o Furnishings & Equipment (ATA 25) Cabin Interior Furnishings & Equipment Cockpit Interior Furnishings Conduct trade studies for optimized form, fit, and function of mechanical systems to include detailed system layouts and airframe integration in CATIA 3DExperience (3DX) Support generation of Interface Control Documentation (3D and 2D models) Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews, incorporating structural, thermal, environmental and ergonomic requirements Collaborate with industrial design, stress, certification, manufacturing, and supply chain teams Coordinate with cross functional teams to define and validate interfaces with adjacent systems and structures Create both experimental and production digital product definition for components, assemblies, and installations, to include dimensions, materials, and processes necessary to fully define the configuration Produce bill of materials and assist in manufacturing assembly instructions Who You Are Education B.S., in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent Experience 0-2 years of experience in Mechanical Systems design P referred Skills Experience with fabrication, assembly, and installation methods of mechanical components Experience with ASME Y14.100 Drawings and Y14.5 GD&T Experience with model and drawing checking, engineering part and model release, and engineering change process Experience in composite and metallic rapid prototyping (additive manufacturing) for both experimental and production applications Experience utilizing CATIA V5, V6, or 3dx Interpersonal Skills Active Listening: Practice to gain insight and truly understand all project stakeholders Critical Thinking: Make prompt, informed and value-based decisions for the project Organization: Focus on agenda, schedules, frameworks, and methodologies, as well as communicating tasks, updates, progress, and blockers Problem Solving: Assess issues from different vantage points and formulate the best solution in addressing specific challenges Self-Motivation: Exude highest level of commitment and motivation to see tasks/projects from start to finish Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and accountability; follows through on commitments and takes pride in delivering high-quality work Teamwork and Team Building: Establish a collaborative culture that facilitates people with unique personalities and skills, happily working together to accomplish a shared goal Strong Business Communication: Use thoughtful language, tone and storytelling techniques when communicating, describing, or explaining issues over email, chat, reports, presentations and other forms and channels of communication Values team success over individual credit, supporting a collaborative and inclusive workplace Physical Requirements Must be able to stand on feet and walk around for extended periods of time Must be able to sit at desk for prolonged periods of time and work on computer Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds Where You'll Be This role is hybrid on-site at our facility at Meacham Airport in Ft Worth, TX until mid/late 2026, at which time it will transition to full onsite in Jacksonville, FL.
