Retail Parts Pro – Full‑Time – Advance Auto Parts We are for an energetic and customer‑focussed Retail Parts Pro to join our Advanced Auto Parts team. The role blends automotive expertise with sales and service skills to help DIY customers and drive store performance. Primary Responsibilities Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls. Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives. Manage DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs. Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance. Handle key holder duties, including task assignment, safety, and open/close operations. Secondary Responsibilities Assist with store inventory processes, including putaway, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back stock. Keep the store clean, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot. Success Factors Friendly communication and ability to locate and stock parts. Safety knowledge and skills. Operating inventory systems and store equipment. Parts and automotive system knowledge. Operating POS and Parts lookup systems. Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services. ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent. Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability. Advanced parts lookup and sourcing. Advanced selling skills for DIY. Essential Job Skills Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability for internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, and exhaust. Speak and write English; Spanish a plus. Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals; write simple correspondence. Execute written, oral, or diagram instructions. Complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment. Use basic math accurately. Use Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organizational skills. Work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed. Prior Experience and Education 3‑5 years of automotive parts experience. Proven sales ability with experience in customer transactions. Valid driver’s license. ASE certification preferred but not required.
