Preston Rd., Celina TX 75009 2801 McKinney St., Melissa TX 75454 Now Hiring for the Melissa Store Position Summary We are looking for outgoing, friendly, and helpful Grill Sales Associates to warmly welcome and help our customers with their backyard and BBQ projects. The primary responsibilities of the Grilling - Sales Specialist position are to promote and sell grills, accessories and fuels while providing amazing customer service, providing product knowledge, conducting live grill demonstrations, and supporting store management tasks during downtime. Major Responsibilities Come to work as a happy, friendly associate ready to help every customer. Enjoy cooking on a BBQ grill and be willing to learn everything about the grills we sell. Greet customers and ask “What can I help you find today?” Ensure customers receive amazing service and compare product features. Assist customers in locating merchandise, providing alternatives, and helping with AceHardware.com and special orders. When selling grills, ensure customers receive related accessories and understand product options. Use the radio headset to communicate with other associates. Stay aware of all promotions and communicate them to customers. Take ownership of assigned roles and perform to the highest standards. Execute daily operational tasks and priorities assigned by store management, including: Stocking, replenishing out-of-stocks, and processing truck receipts. Setting planograms, endcaps, and displays. Completing price changes and labeling. Setting promotions and maintaining shelf labels. Assist in training and developing peers. Participate in Store Housekeeping Standards, including: Performing trash removal, dusting, mopping, and cleaning restrooms, breakroom, and stockroom. Maintaining merchandising standards with proper facing on shelves and hooks. Retrieving carts, picking up trash outside, and cleaning front patio and garden center. Process new shipments and keep receiving areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow safety rules and report accidents to the manager. Monitor customers for potential shoplifting and notify management via radio. Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card. Answer customers’ questions, “how to” requests, and “do it yourself” projects. Learn POS procedures to back up Customer Service Associates and process high‑value transactions. Complete at least 20 hours of training per year and earn 2 badges per year. Learn to assist customers in all areas of the store beyond grilling. Minimum Requirements Friendly and service‑oriented personality. High school diploma (trade experience, some college preferred). Grilling product knowledge and active cooking on gas and smoker grills. Basic food preparation skills and willingness to obtain certification if necessary. Product knowledge of hardware categories and willingness to learn. Previous retail experience in sales and merchandising. Sales and marketing experience with retail programs and customer relationships. Experience with retail operational computer systems, MS Word, and Excel a plus. Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn. Excellent communication, organizational ability, high attention to detail, and multitasking. Ability to work part‑time flexible hours including weekday shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 40–80 pounds as necessary. Ability to stand for an extended period. Ability to move and handle boxes, merchandise, and fixtures throughout the store.
