We are seeking an early-career Government Affairs Associate to support a fast-paced team working across government relations, public policy, and business issues. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in policy research, legislative tracking, advocacy support, and engagement with policymakers and business leaders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track federal and state legislative and regulatory developments relevant to the organization and its members.
• Research policy issues and prepare briefing materials, background information, issue summaries, and meeting notes.
• Support government affairs professionals and lobbyists with research, outreach preparation, and follow-up.
• Assist with drafting legislative correspondence, comment letters, talking points, testimony, member alerts, and other advocacy materials.
• Help prepare for meetings with policymakers, congressional staff, member companies, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Support the planning and execution of government affairs events, policy briefings, membership meetings, and other advocacy activities.
• Maintain accurate project trackers, records, research materials, and internal resources.
• Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, projects, and day-to-day government affairs activities.
• Synthesize complex policy information into clear and concise written materials.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure projects remain organized, accurate, and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, International Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience, including internships, in government affairs, public policy, Capitol Hill, government, trade associations, campaigns, think tanks, or similar environments.
• Strong interest in U.S. politics, public policy, international business, and economic issues.
• Basic understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes.
• Excellent writing, editing, research, and communication skills.
• Ability to research complex topics and synthesize information clearly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Professional, collaborative, and proactive approach to working with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Full-time, hybrid

$24-26hr
