Commercial Estimator / Project Manager

Overhead Door Company of Akron is looking for a Commercial Estimator / Project Manager to join our growing Commercial Sales Team. This is a hands-on role that combines estimating, project management, customer communication, and coordination to ensure commercial projects are completed successfully and on schedule.

You'll work with contractors, facility managers, suppliers, and our installation teams to manage projects involving commercial garage doors, loading dock equipment, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, and specialty commercial access solutions.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of projects, build strong customer relationships, and play a key role in the success of a respected company serving Northeast Ohio businesses.

What You'll Do

Prepare estimates and quotations for commercial projects

Review plans, specifications, and project requirements

Coordinate projects from quote approval through installation

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers

Communicate schedules, timelines, and job readiness requirements

Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and installation teams

Manage project documentation, submittals, and change orders

Help ensure projects stay on schedule and customers stay informed

Construction, estimating, project management, or commercial building product experience preferred

Ability to read construction drawings and specifications is a plus

Valid driver's license

Job Requirements

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
4. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents is preferred.
5. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, and team members.
6. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Valid driver's license meeting company insurability requirements.
8. Ability to travel to customer sites and project locations as needed.

Experience That Will Help You Succeed

• Prior experience in estimating, project management, project coordination, construction, commercial sales, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience working with commercial garage doors, loading dock equipment, rolling steel doors, high-speed doors, construction products, or building materials is a plus.
• Experience reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents is a plus.
• Experience working directly with contractors, facility managers, or commercial customers is a plus.
