Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking an HSE Specialist to join their team. In this critical role, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding our employees and the environment at our Chicago Heights and Alsip locations.
- Implement and oversee company HSE programs, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and training effectiveness.
- Provide expert guidance to site management on all HSE matters.
- Analyze data to identify and address HSE risks, developing mitigation strategies.
- Manage audits and inspections, ensuring adherence to regulations and company standards.
- Create, review, and update HSE procedures (permits, hazard communication, PPE, etc.).
- Manage the HSE training program, including development, delivery, and recordkeeping.
- Lead incident investigations using industry best practices (RCA, 5-Whys).
- Drive implementation of sustainability initiatives to achieve company goals.
- Contribute to annual HSE budgets and monitor performance against targets.
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing HSE compliance.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proven track record of success in HSE program development and implementation.
