About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President, Head of Engineering Practice to lead the establishment and scaling of consistent backend engineering standards across teams. This pivotal role is a blend of strategic and hands-on responsibilities, with a focus on driving engineering standardization, building reusable frameworks, and enabling modern development approaches, including the integration of AI within the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will be a key influencer, fostering a culture of collaboration, and engineering excellence, and will be expected to have a strong, recent hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, as well as a proven track record in building reusable frameworks or shared services. Key responsibilities for this role include defining and enforcing API design principles, service patterns, and best practices, as well as driving alignment and reducing fragmentation across distributed engineering teams. The role also involves designing and implementing reusable frameworks and shared services, ensuring their scalability and maintainability, and acting as a technical thought leader by reviewing architecture, code, and technical designs. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in backend development, including RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and SQL and NoSQL databases, and will be adept at integrating AI and generative AI capabilities into engineering workflows to enhance developer productivity. A background in regulated industries and experience operating within microservices-based environments are preferred.
