Senior Scientist, Stem Cell Product Attribute Sciences (Allogeneic Cell Therapy)

You will architect the assays that ensure our most innovative products are safe, consistent, and ready for the patients who need them. Key Responsibilities Translate exploratory research protocols into standardized SOPs for a rigorous CMC environment. Lead the generation and validation of critical data required for Module 3 of IND filings. Develop and execute ultra‑sensitive assays (ddPCR, multi‑color Flow Cytometry) for detection of residual undifferentiated pluripotent stem cells to meet FDA safety requirements. Establish lineage‑specific characterization protocols to ensure batch‑to‑batch consistency and biological identity of differentiated products. Create MoA‑reflective assays to demonstrate in vitro biological function of differentiated cell products. Act as the primary liaison between research and development teams to ensure CQAs are measurable, scalable, and clinically relevant. Job Requirements Academic Excellence – Ph.D. in Stem Cell Biology, Regenerative Medicine, or related field (0–2 years experience in industry), thesis focused on complex cell characterization or differentiation. Technical Deep‑Dive – Expert hands‑on experience with ddPCR and multi‑color Flow Cytometry (10+ colors). Troubleshooting expertise. Scientist‑as‑Architect Mindset – Passion for building robust, reproducible, and precise assays from the ground up. CMC Curiosity & Literacy – Foundational understanding of the drug development lifecycle and desire to specialize in the CMC space. Agility – Fast‑learner who can pivot from a research‑heavy mindset to a quality‑driven one while maintaining curiosity. Preferred – Direct experience with iPSC or ESC derived products, prior IND/BLA section writing, and use of DoE software for assay optimization. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $104,700 – $194,400 (South San Francisco, CA). Pay determined by experience and qualifications. Possible discretionary annual bonus.
