Motor Grader Operator

Blast OperatorWorking within a team environment, the Blast Operator position is responsible for the blasting duties centered on ensuring parts to be coated are cleaned and prepped by customer specifications as contained within the work order.Key functions include:Operating in machine blast operations, forcing abrasive material onto a component's surface through a nozzle.Loading parts into sandblast equipment, maintaining an adequate supply of blast sand in the hopper.Configuring and running blast machines in accordance with the customer's specifications.Collecting materials, tooling, and blast products prior to initiating operation.Using hand tools to repair, clean, and adjust equipment.Complying with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.Checking work visually, making minor decisions; detecting and reporting defective items and unusual conditions to proper supervision.Sand blasting parts following established methods and procedures to remove surface contaminants and impart a proper surface finish.Performing other related duties as assigned.This job description is a summary of the primary job scope and should not be assumed as an all-inclusive description.Work qualifications required:A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse facility.Proven proficiency in fundamental shop math, including handling fractions and decimals.Proficient in the use of hand and power tools for successful job performance.Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate.Ability to follow directions and procedures.Ability to analyze and resolve problems in a logical and effective manner.2-5 years of Industrial Gas Turbine Repair experience.Basic computer skills.Educational requirements:HS diploma or GED.Work environment:Willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the role.Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time or until the end of the assigned shift.Must be able to lift 40 lbs. safely and properly, as needed throughout the assigned shift with or without assistance.Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulder height, crouch, balance, and push/pull.Reasonable accommodations will be made to ensure that the essential functions of the job can be performed and not hinder the employee's performance due to physical, mental, or emotional disability.Allied Power Group is an equal opportunity workplace.
