JOB SUMMARY:

The Tool and Equipment Associate is responsible for inspection and testing of tools and equipment that are rented to customers. This position ensures that tools being sent to projects are complete, in good working order, and safe to use.

SALARY RANGE: $30 - $35 hourly, $62,400 - 72,800 annually (Bay Area region)

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location.

You are immediately 100% vested in all contributions (including BNB match). We provide both traditional (Pre-Tax) and Roth (post -tax) contribution options in our 401(k) plan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tool & Equipment Inspection, Testing, and Repair

• Inspect, test, and clean battery-powered, gas-powered, and 110-volt tools.
• Inspect, test, and make minor repairs on 240-volt temporary power and lighting components.
• Diagnose and perform basic repairs on small power tools and light construction equipment.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment meet manufacturer specifications and operational requirements.
• Identify items covered under manufacturer warranty and coordinate warranty repairs.

Tagging, Tracking & Documentation

• Green-tag equipment that passes inspection and red-tag items that pose safety concerns.
• Track and document repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment status.
• Return equipment to the appropriate bin location (e.g., warranty, damaged, rent-ready).

Coordination & Workflow Management

• Coordinate with warehouse staff to prioritize urgent repair needs.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area at all times.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High level of mechanical aptitude.
• Previous experience inspecting tools and equipment in a fast-paced environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of electrical safety best practices.
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to read and respond to emailed inquiries from customers and/or employees.
• Safety-oriented.
• Must hold a valid and current driver's license, maintained in good standing throughout the duration of employment.

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction. Conduct jobsite walks to ensure successful project completion. Conduct jobsite walks to identify and eliminate safety hazards.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
