Associate Child Care Teacher

Join a dedicated team supporting the developmental and care needs of young children in a nurturing childcare center located in the Southeastern United States. This role assists the lead teacher in delivering a high-quality educational program while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the lead teacher in implementing curriculum and daily learning activities for individuals and groups.
• Engage positively with children, serving as a role model and fostering a supportive classroom atmosphere.
• Follow established center procedures including diaper changing, emergency protocols, and daily schedules independently.
• Participate in parent involvement initiatives such as newsletters, conferences, and meetings.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the childcare program.

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Early Childhood Development coursework (minimum 6 additional hours) from an accredited institution is necessary; out-of-state coursework must be reviewed by the appropriate state division.
• Certification in Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED from the American Heart Association is required.

Experience:

• At least 2 years of professional experience in a childcare or elementary school classroom setting.

Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of children from birth to five years.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to observe and respond to children's needs in the classroom environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform activities such as walking, standing, and lifting children and classroom materials.
