The Cardiac Surgical unit is a step-down / PCU unit that receives post‑surgical open‑heart patients once they are stable from their CVICU stay. Responsibilities Independently caring for a group of patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards. Delegating appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. Professional accountability and development. Performing the role of preceptor and charge nurse when assigned. Qualifications Certifications and Licensures: BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required. RN (Registered Nurse) license is required. ACLS, NIHSS, and PCCN Certification is preferred. Education Associate’s degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience 6 months of RN experience is required.
