Postdoctoral Associate, Air Quality, Public Health, and Satellite Data Applications

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE – AIR QUALITY, PUBLIC HEALTH, AND SATELLITE DATA APPLICATIONS This one-year position at MIT in the Fiore research group involves cutting‑edge research on satellite data applications for air quality and public health. Responsibilities include performing simulations with chemistry‑transport and/or chemistry‑climate models, analyzing ground and airborne observations, leading scientific publications and presentations, and designing and documenting software for scientific analysis and visualization. Qualifications Required: Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry, remote sensing, climate science, or related field. Required: Strong publication record in relevant journals. Required: Proven competence with programming for scientific analysis and visualization such as in Python. Required: Self‑motivation with demonstrated ability to conduct independent research. Required: Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Required: Ability to deliver results, adapt to change, work on research proposals, and collaborate in team‑oriented environments, including with stakeholder partners. Preferred: Research experience in development of remote sensing retrieval algorithms, application of satellite data, air quality modeling, atmospheric chemistry modeling, and/or statistical modeling approaches (including machine learning).
