Landscape Designer Job Title: Landscape Designer Start Date: Immediate, position open until filled Status: Full-Time Pay: $68,000 – $90,000 Annually commensurate with experience Full-Time Benefits: Vacation, Training/Wellness Stipends, 401k Match, Long/Short Term Disability Location: Regional to Ventura County, CA, or hybrid remote with ability for frequent travel to Ventura County sites, and occasional travel to other areas within California Watershed Progressive is hiring a Landscape Designer to join our team! As a Landscape Designer at Watershed Progressive, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission of “connecting communities with their watersheds through integrated strategies for a healthy, resilient future” through your skills, expertise, and contribution to a dynamic team. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks related to nature-based landscape design including use of site assessments; client meetings; design software including Adobe, AutoCAD, and GIS for drafting of grading, planting, irrigation, and other landscape design drawings; multimedia presentations; graphic formatting for report documents; and translating technical information into graphic formats. Your work will contribute to the development and implementation of projects that engage communities in building climate, ecological and water resilience. About the Position Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture; 1-5 years of related professional office experience; Experience assessing project sites and meeting/communicating with clients; AutoCAD: High proficiency in AutoCAD software plus experience using Land-FX; Adobe: Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; including ability to complete landscape designs in Illustrator, understanding of reflowable text for presentations and reports in InDesign, knowledge of setting up printable documents according to specifications with bleed in ID and AI, flattening vectors, and variable output settings for print and web; GIS: Experience with Arcview GIS software or geoplanner; Knowledge of California native plants; Planting design/plan drafting; Irrigation design/plan drafting; Grading and drainage design/plan drafting; Experience leading landscape construction administration or design-build teams; Excellent, professional, oral, & written communication skills; Ability to be self‑motivated working independently, remotely or within teams. Additional Qualifications (Preferred) Experience with holistic, multi‑benefit, nature‑based design; Graduate Degree in Landscape Architecture; Experience with Stormwater Management Low Impact Design (LID)/Best Management Practices; Sketchup, Rhino, or other 3D rendering software experience; Strong graphic design and visual communication skills in Adobe as well as Squarespace experience, LMS experience, and experience with captioning videos in Premiere or Vimeo; Exceptional Word, Excell, and PowerPoint proficiency; Ability to manage projects and lead teams; Experience with public outreach; Ability to project manage, lead and work on multiple projects concurrently.
