Post Cardiac Cath Unit (PCCU) Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule (19:30 - 07:00); every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Post Cardiac Cath Unit (PCCU) Registered Nurse will care for pre and post-cardiac catheterization patients, as well as some overflow from the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include pulling arterial/venous sheaths post-cath, managing TR bands, new pacemakers/defibrillators, and Watchman procedures. The RN will prepare patients for discharge 24-48 hours post-procedure, unless the patient requires a CABG consult, in which case they will be set up for surgery or transferred to the appropriate unit. The unit does not manage chest tubes or critical drips.

Responsibilities

• Caring for pre and post-cardiac catheterization patients.
• Pulling arterial/venous sheaths post-cath.
• Managing TR bands and new pacemakers/defibrillators.
• Preparing patients for discharge and coordinating care for CABG consultations.
• Monitoring adult patients' telemetry care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.
• At least 1 year of in-specialty experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• West Virginia or Compact RN license required (pending licenses accepted).
