Surfpoint Recovery is looking for a F ull Time Phlebotomist as we grow and expand. Surfpoint Recovery is a cutting edge substance-use-disorder (SUD) treatment center that has partnered with DailyPay for same day access to funds! Surfpoint Recovery offers inpatient detox, withdrawal, and stabilization services, as well as inpatient rehabilitation services for individuals with substance use disorder.


The P hlebotomist is responsible for identifying the best method for retrieving specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and performing screening procedures for all patients.


Schedule: Monday - Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm)

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collect blood samples, vital and urine toxicology from all incoming patients and upload information/results to their electronic medical record (EMR).
• Inform medical staff of lab test results. Enter new patients to EMR (KIPU), ChemPlus, Quest, etc. as needed.
• Practice proper patient identification
• Decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient.
• Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment. Dispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
• Gather all sharps and place in allocated area the day before for pick-up by disposal company.
• Document route of specimens from collection to laboratory analysis.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current National Healthcare Association (NHA) Phlebotomy certification
• Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
