The PTA assists in implementing motor plans designed to support student engagement across various settings, including school, community, and home. The PTA contributes to creating inclusive learning environments by participating in professional development activities for staff and district partners. Under the supervision and guidance of the PT, the PTA follows state regulations for delegation of duties and frequency of supervision, ensuring that all tasks are carried out effectively and in compliance with professional standards.
Qualifications: 1. Associate's degree (AA) with a certificate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
2. Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license from the Oregon Physical Therapy Licensing Board is required.
3. Two or more years of clinical experience in an educational or pediatric setting is preferred.
4. Such alternatives to certain above qualifications may apply as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent and/or Board of Directors.

1. Consult and collaborate regularly with supervising physical therapist.
2. Maintain detailed records of treatment, observation, and progress of each student's functioning, abilities, and use of adaptive equipment.
3. Display knowledge of, or is able to, research etiology characteristics and prognosis of major handicapping conditions.
4. Display knowledge of normal developmental sequences and gross motor skills.
5. Provide physical therapy services and treatments in the areas of gross motor development, adaptive equipment, and mobility.
6. Attend IFSP, IEP, and other team meetings to assist the education team in the development of appropriate goals, objectives, modifications, accommodations, and strategies for identified students on the caseload with the support of the supervising physical therapist.
7. Design, construct, and adapt materials and equipment to provide support in the educational setting.
8. Serve as a resource, consultant, and trainer to provide suggestions, trainings, and/or equipment for use by students, educators, and/or families.
9. Assist specialists (OT, PT, SLP, vision, etc.), families, and school staff with selection, procurement, and use of relevant assistive technology.
10. Instructs education staff in appropriate body mechanics, positioning, and handling and mobility needs of the student to support educational goals/program with support of supervising physical therapist.
11. Ability to synthesize and integrate clinical, educational, and interpersonal issues regarding change, disabilities, grief, and loss.
12. Participate in Medicaid billing process for school-based services as directed.

9. Utilize teleservice platform to provide services to educators, students and district staff as directed. 10. Ability to lift, carry at least 25 pounds as well as ability to sit for extended periods of time in vehicle, desk and various sized school furniture.
11. Ability to occasionally bend, squat, twist, climb stairs and sit on the floor.
12. Ability to provide own transportation to school, preschools, community settings and homes in locations throughout a three county region. Supervisory Responsibility: Gives direction to student and/or volunteer workers. Language Skills: - Knowledge of English and designated foreign language. In both written and verbal form; use correct punctuation, grammar and spelling.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions given orally and/or in writing.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, volunteers, coworkers or other employees. Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
