Job Summary

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of this position in Las Vegas, NV. Temporary Aids perform simple, routine, manual/clerical tasks on a temporary, seasonal, or intermittent short-term basis. This position works in the Tobacco Unit with the Attorney General's Office and works under the supervision of a Tobacco Investigator to conduct periodic tobacco compliance checks with retail establishments throughout the State of Nevada. Duties of this position include counting money used to purchase tobacco which involves simple mathematical computations, completing reports, daily account sheets and sales receipts. The incumbent may be required to appear in court to provide testimony. Temporary Aids perform simple, routine, manual and/or clerical tasks on a temporary, seasonal, or intermittent short-term basis.
Essential Qualifications
Six months of experience performing simple manual and/or clerical tasks.
Job Duties
Perform routine and repetitive tasks such as assisting students with completing registration forms, distributing registration packets, conducting surveys, gathering information, setting up chairs, washing laboratory glassware, conducting orientation tours, stocking shelves, pricing books, and other tasks of an unskilled nature requiring limited judgment or knowledge of the overall operations. Perform related duties as assigned. Under general supervision, incumbents perform a variety of unskilled manual and/or clerical tasks. This class is distinguished from the Temporary Aid I by more varied tasks, greater independence, and use of some judgment.
