Snapshot / Role Overview
We're looking for a Director of Safety on Oahu to lead construction safety programs across active worksites, reduce incidents, and build a safety-first culture.
Impact
- Protect employees and reduce incidents.
- Keep the company compliant with OSHA, DOT, and state requirements.
- Lower risk exposure and workers' compensation costs.
- Be the trusted partner for inspections and insurance audits.
Responsibilities
- Lead safety programs across all active worksites.
- Develop, enforce, and improve safety policies.
- Create and review activity hazard analyses, site safety plans, and lift plans.
- Conduct jobsite inspections and audits.
- Lead training for field and office staff.
- Investigate incidents and near misses and manage corrective actions.
- Oversee workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
- Serve as primary contact for OSHA inspections and manage insurance and consultant relationships.
Must-Haves
- Seven to ten or more years of progressive construction safety leadership.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and state safety requirements.
- Experience managing workers' compensation and regulatory inspections.
Nice-to-Haves
- CSP or CHST certification.
- Mechanical or MEP construction background.
Compensation and Logistics
Competitive salary depending on experience, plus benefits. Based on Oahu with time on job sites.
