This role will serve as the finance partner to Data Center Construction and Development, creating the financial and analytical framework needed to understand what our projects cost, why costs move, and where opportunities exist to improve capital efficiency.The Director will own the financial view of project cost performance across the build lifecycle—from early-stage estimates and investment decisions through construction, commissioning, and project completion. This person will establish consistent cost structures, benchmarks, forecasting methodologies, and performance reporting across projects and translate detailed construction data into actionable insights for leadership.This is not simply a project accounting role. We’re looking for someone who can build a cost intelligence capability that helps Crusoe make better decisions about where and how we deploy capital.What You'll Be Working On:Project Cost Analytics & Benchmarking: Develop a consistent cost taxonomy and analytical framework across data center builds, including $/MW, $/kW, cost by construction package, site, geography, design, capacity, and project phase. Establish internal and external benchmarks and identify the drivers of cost variation.Project Forecasting & EAC: Own the financial framework for project Estimate at Completion (EAC), partnering with Construction, Development, Procurement, and project controls to understand committed, incurred, forecasted, and at-risk spend. Establish a disciplined process for identifying cost pressure and forecast changes early.Cost Variance & Root-Cause Analytics: Analyze performance against original underwriting, approved budget, baseline estimate, prior forecast, and benchmark. Distinguish changes driven by scope, quantity, rate, schedule, design, procurement, productivity, contingency utilization, and other factors.Build Economics: Develop the financial view of construction economics and capital efficiency, connecting project cost, schedule, MW delivery, and design decisions. Help leadership understand tradeoffs between cost, speed, resiliency, capacity, and risk.Estimating & Cost Intelligence: Partner with estimating, construction, engineering, procurement, and development teams to improve the quality of early-stage project estimates. Build feedback loops so actual project performance continuously improves future estimates and underwriting assumptions.Portfolio Cost Performance: Create portfolio-level visibility across active data center projects, highlighting cost trends, forecast changes, contingency consumption, emerging risks, and opportunities. Establish standardized reporting that allows leadership to compare projects consistently.Capital Planning & Cash Forecasting: Translate project EACs and construction schedules into reliable capital and cash-spend forecasts, ensuring project-level forecasts roll into DIG’s overall capital plan, forecast, budget, and long-range plan.Decision Support: Provide financial analysis for major design changes, change orders, procurement decisions, contracting strategies, schedule acceleration, and other decisions that materially affect project economics.Data & Analytics Infrastructure: Define the source-of-truth data, ownership, controls, and reporting architecture required for project cost analytics. Partner across Finance, project controls, procurement, construction, and systems teams to improve data quality and automate reporting wherever possible.What You'll Bring to the Team:8+ years of experience spanning construction finance, project controls, capital projects accounting, or project finance, ideally within data centers, energy, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure; direct exposure to data center or facilities operations finance strongly preferred.Demonstrated experience managing construction budgets, cost reporting, and draw processes on large capital projects (typically $100M+ in scale).Familiarity with construction loan agreements, draw/funding mechanics, and lender/independent engineer requirements.Working knowledge of GC/EPC contract structures, change order management, and construction risk allocation (bonding, retainage, liquidated damages).Experience managing operating budgets and cost performance for live facilities, ideally data centers or other mission-critical operating assets.Understanding of how construction-phase decisions (design, equipment selection, contract terms) affect long-term operating costs and asset performanceStrong financial modeling and analytical skills; comfort building and maintaining detailed cost-tracking tools across both build and operate phases.Experience managing multiple concurrent projects/sites in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; able to work directly with construction managers, GCs, data center operations teams, lenders, and internal finance/accounting teams.Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, construction management, engineering, or related field required; MBA or CPA a plus.Benefits:Competitive compensation and equity packagesRestricted Stock UnitsPaid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programsComprehensive health, dental & vision insuranceEmployer contributions to HSA accountPaid parental leavePaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disabilityProfessional development & tuition reimbursementMental health & wellness supportCommuter benefits (parking & transit)Cell phone stipend401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salaryVolunteer time offGlobal travel insurance & emergency assistanceDaily meals allowanceAdditional perks & programs specific to locationCompensation RangeCompensation will be paid in the range of up to $210,000-$245,000+ Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.
