Job Overview

Our organization is seeking an Acute Occupational Therapy Supervisor to become a part of our team at a prominent hospital. This position primarily focuses on supervisory responsibilities, with some involvement in patient care as necessary. You will be leading a small group of occupational therapists within our extensive 900-bed, Level 1 Trauma Center.

• Deliver occupational therapy services to patients, which includes conducting screenings and evaluations, creating treatment plans, implementing treatments, reassessing and revising plans, re-evaluating patients, planning for discharge, and maintaining documentation. You will also assist in managing daily operations in partnership with leadership, ensuring effective scheduling and coverage for team members.

• Provide evaluation and treatment services, which involve reviewing relevant historical data, performing specific assessments, making recommendations, and documenting results. You will explain evaluation outcomes and treatment plans to patients and their families, involving them in goal-setting. Demonstrate proficiency in executing treatment protocols and consult with other healthcare professionals as needed. Maintain documentation of any changes in patient conditions and pursue continuing education for personal and organizational growth.

• Enhance customer experience and ensure seamless access to care. Show a professional commitment to providing flexible and empathetic patient access. Participate in efforts to eliminate barriers to access and coordinate daily operations as directed by leadership, including staffing and patient scheduling. Engage in utilization and peer review activities and provide ongoing feedback to team members to support their performance and goal achievement.

• Assist in the selection, training, and orientation of staff as directed by leadership. Engage in decision-making and problem-solving processes that affect patient care. Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the development of clinical policies under leadership guidance.

• Contribute to program development, expansion, and enhancement alongside leadership and team members. Facilitate communication and collaboration with physicians and other stakeholders throughout the care continuum. Participate in community outreach and marketing initiatives to raise awareness of our programs and services.

• A degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the District of Columbia (DC).
• Certification in CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation).
• 3-4 years of clinical experience in a rehabilitation setting, demonstrating expertise in the field.

This position offers a salary range of USD $89,065.00 to USD $162,801.00 per year.
